See What We've Been Building →
Hello there, I'm Florida Man Josh, owner and founder of Florida Man Roleplay. First off, I wanted to reach out personally and say thanks — honestly, this message probably wouldn't exist without you.
I've been watching Bugs, Ryan, Jeff, and the rest of the OCRP crew for almost ten years. Those videos got me through some rough times growing up — I'd wait for new uploads just to laugh and forget about everything else for a bit. It might sound silly, but they genuinely meant a lot to me. I always dreamed of being part of that world, and even planned to apply years ago, but the timing never worked out. I got to watch from the sidelines and see people like you bring those characters and stories to life, and that was its own kind of inspiration.
A few years later I got into FiveM and realized the kind of RP I loved — slow, creative, character-driven, funny, memorable — wasn't really happening in most public servers. Everything else felt like grind, nonstop lights, or shootouts. I just liked telling stories with people. So I did the slightly insane thing and decided to build my own server from scratch.
I started developing FMRP — a creative RP server rooted in the wild, beautiful Pinellas County where I was born and raised — years before we launched publicly in summer 2024. I wanted to create the kind of environment I'd always wished existed. When we went public, it grew faster than I ever expected: packed nights, 30+ civs, tons of laughs, and some of the best RP memories I've had. I met incredible people and built a core group I'm truly grateful for.
By December 2025, I realized it was time to slow down and rethink things. The public model had its moments, but it also showed me how easy it is for a space to drift away from the creative, story-first style that inspired it in the first place. So I made the call to rebuild — fully 18+, fully whitelisted, smaller and more intentional, built for seasoned roleplayers who want the kind of character-driven chaos I fell in love with watching OCRP. It's not about numbers — it's about quality, shared expectations, and freedom to tell stories. We've been shaping it exactly the way I've always imagined — small, hands-on, and built from scratch to support creative, story-driven RP.
Even almost a decade after discovering the original DOJ/Code-0 crew, navigating life in my mid-20s, the dream hasn't faded. Losing a community like OCRP is no small thing — even watching from the sidelines, it hit harder than I expected. Nobody can replace what that community was, and I'd never pretend otherwise. FMRP is its own thing, inspired by what made OCRP special, but built with its own identity and vision.
This is a private message for people who were part of or familiar with OCRP. If it resonates, I'd love to talk directly — no pressure at all. The video above gives a look at the community and the systems we've built, showing how we're inspired by the past but very much doing our own thing.
Either way, thank you for all the inspiration over the years — FMRP wouldn't exist without it.
— Josh (Florida Man Josh)
